Joey and Scout Posted by Heidi - heidiwebb@verizon.net on June 16, 2004 09:30 PM book review The story is very helpful for those experiencing the loss of a pet. The illustrations are WONDERFUL! They really capture the sentiment and feeling of the story. Posted by Sarah Johnson - info@sayinggoodbye.net on June 01, 2004 12:39 PM Kids Love It! This is a great book that the kids really like. They relate to the story easily and can really identify with the characters. I like how Mr. Brown says crying is a good thing and even strong men cry. We need to let boys know that more often Posted by Lyn Turnell - info@sayinggoodbye.net on June 01, 2004 12:37 PM Book Review I like that it gives the child permission to feel so many different ways about losing the pet. I like how it focuses so much on positive thoughts rather than sadness. I loved the picture. I think the artwork (obviously) adds so much to a story and I think the way the artist has captured the expression of the boy and the dog makes the story! Posted by Staci Bargainnier - info@sayinggoodbye.net on June 01, 2004 12:36 PM Book Review This is a great story. I love the graphics of Joey and Ralph. I like how the story doesn't tell how Ralph died - that was it will fit with any pet death that a child has. That makes it unique to some other books I have read. Posted by Hank Schmidt - dmschmidt31@yahoo.com on April 23, 2004 03:22 PM Joey and Scout I liked Joey and Scout because when my fish, Orange Julius, died, it helped that I got to say good bye to it. Then I went with Dad to get a new fish and I love my new fish just as much. I was sad when Joey lost Scout.
